Urban Trauma Part 8: Family Violence- Home is Not Home Anymore

Urban Trauma: The Series- explores the issues and the impact of generational urban trauma that many clients face today. This series of training will provide clinical strategies and interventions to help professionals and survivors cope with exposure to such trauma.

Participants will be able to:

1. Describe various types of generational family and partner violence.

2. List at least 5 core issues families encounter when exposed to perpetual family abuse and violence.
3. Identify effective clinical approaches that assess and treat individuals recovering from family and intimate partner violence.

Trainers:

Dr. Kimberly Thomas, LCPC, CADC, CPAIP, CAM-S II, ACS, is the owner of Healthy Soul Talk LLC. She has over 12 years of clinical experience working in the mental health and addictions field. In addition, Dr. Thomas has been training professionals in various academic and in-service platforms for over eight years. Her behavioral health firm provides multilayered behavioral health services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.

These two clinicians have worked together for over 8 years providing certified partner abuse intervention services for perpetrator of domestic violence.
