This series of training will provide clinical strategies and interventions to help professionals and survivors cope with exposure to such trauma. \nJoin us as we dive into and analyze the correlations between exposure to urban trauma and common chronic illnesses and acute pain associated. \nTraining Schedule: \nAddress: Eisenhower Tower \n1701 S. 1st Ave- 4th Fl Suite 407 \nDay: Friday- 10/25/2019 \nTime: 8:30am-1:20pm \nCE Credit: 4 hours \nBreakfast and snacks provided \nParticipants will be able to:\n\n1. Convey how urban trauma exacerbate and prolong physical illnesses and acute pain. \n\nList at least 5 core issues for individuals suffering from chronic illness and acute pain as a result of urban trauma.\nIdentify effective clinical approaches that assess and treat individuals experiencing prolonged physical pain and wounds.\n\nTrainers: \nDr. Kimberly Thomas\, LCPC\, CADC\, CPAIP\, CAM-S II\, ACS\, is the owner of Healthy Soul Talk LLC. She has over 12 years of clinical experience working in the mental health and addictions field. In addition\, Dr. Thomas has been training professionals in various academic and in-service platforms for over eight years. Her behavioral health firm provides multilayered behavioral health services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. \nDr. Charles C. Brown earned his PhD in Community Psychology from National Louis University in Chicago. He is currently a Professor of Psychology campuses within the City Colleges of Chicago network. Dr. Brown is also the creator the R.E.A.C.T. Approach\, which is a scientifically proven method to resolve conflicts within any relationship.
