SUMMARY:Betrayal Trauma and Domestic Violence Intervention Pt 2 Victimization
DESCRIPTION:Description of the Workshop \nMany survivors of intimate partner violence experience betrayal trauma. The trauma that represents the degree to which the body negatively responds to being betrayed by the person that you depend on for survival of whom significantly violates your trust and/or well-being. Studies show that survivors of betrayal trauma need an approach in services that focuses on establishing new healthy intimate relationships by helping them explore the various ways the impact of betrayal trauma manifests itself and acts as a barrier to forming healthy intimate relationships. \nThis three-hour workshop will explore how to broach the subject matter of betrayal trauma and the impact of short- and long-term impact of victimization of betrayal trauma in intimate relationships best evidenced-based practices and ethical considerations. Attendees will engage in meaningful discussion of case studies\, exploring indicators of how to broach recovery of betrayal trauma injuries as well as effective clinical practices during the intake process\, counseling services and clinical supervision. This workshop is designed for all attendees with basic to advanced knowledge of approaching betrayal trauma perpetuated in intimate relationships. \nCost: $65 \n**All materials included. This three-hour workshop will explore when and how to infuse interventions in a group and individual setting regarding the perpetuation of domestic violence that causes emotional injuries from betrayal trauma. Describe how spirituality impacts the recovery process for those that have experienced trauma. \n\nList at least 5 core issues that individuals experience when spirituality is disrupted\, and their faith is diminished.\nIdentify effective clinical approaches that incorporate spiritual interventions as requested by the client.\n\nTrainers: \nDr. Kimberly Thomas\, LCPC\, CADC\, CPAIP\, CAM-S II\, ACS\, is the owner of Healthy Soul Talk LLC. She has over 12 years of clinical experience working in the mental health and addictions field. In addition\, Dr. Thomas has been training professionals in various academic and in-service platforms for over eight years. Her behavioral health firm provides multilayered behavioral health services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. \nDr. Charles C. Brown earned his PhD in Community Psychology from National Louis University in Chicago. He is currently a Professor of Psychology campuses within the City Colleges of Chicago network. Dr. Brown is also the creator the R.E.A.C.T. Approach\, which is a scientifically proven method to resolve conflicts within any relationship.
